7 ways to enjoy your Champagne in the UK this Summer

Champagne has some powerful transformative qualities. It can add romance to a dinner for two, add a sense of occasion to a personal achievement and instantly turn any given moment into a celebration. So for a luxurious Summer in Britain, there could only be one ingredient we needed to add. Read on for our guide to the best ways to enjoy your fizz in style this Summer. At the races – Champagne at Goodwood, Sussex Hot on the heels of Royal Ascot, the Goodwood Qatar Festival has just as much glamour but within an even lovelier setting since itÂ’s surrounded by the spectacular South Downs. Celebrate the horse racing in style with the exclusive Richmond Champagne Package, which includes four Richmond Enclosure tickets as well as a chilled bottle of Champagne. And for an insider-tip, boutique gem The White Horse down the road in Chilgrove also stocks a fine range of British sparkling wines too. Qatar Goodwood Festival For a culture fix – hampagne at The Signet Library, Edinburgh In case youÂ’re thinking about soaking up some culture at the Fringe Festival in August, be sure to visit the beautiful Signet Library – one of EdinburghÂ’s finest buildings – to savour superb Pommery Champagne and divine food in the most esteemed of heritage settings. Something to suit Champagne lovers and cultural aficionados alike. Edinburgh Royal Mile On a country escape – Cranborne Champagne Weekends at The King John Inn, Wiltshire If youÂ’re looking to escape the city then the King John Inn, part of the Epicurean Collection, in the gorgeous Cranborne Chase does country-lux exceedingly well. Sweep a loved-one off their feet with the Ruinart-fuelled Champagne Weekends and pair your fizz with their field-to-fork food. If youÂ’re not in the mood for romance, any of the Collection pubs offer a little Champagne on the house when you book direct. King John Inn With a bottomless brunch – One Canada Square in Canary Wharf, London Brunch has become a dining ritual in the UK and is one of the best ways to get your fizz fix in the capital, especially when the Champagne is bottomless. While One Canada Square may be bustling with city workers during the week, on Saturdays itÂ’s a sanctuary of impeccable brunch and bubbles accompanied by a live pianist. One Canada Square At the spa – Champagne at Thermae Bath Spa, Bath Something a little different to your usual spa offering. At the renowned Thermae Bath Spa you can do as the Romans did and enjoy a rejuvenating rooftop soak in the natural hot springs overlooking the beautiful spires of historic Bath, before padding to the restaurant in your robe and slippers to sip Champagne over a light bite. Thermae Bath Spa At EuropeÂ’s longest Champagne bar – Searcys at St Pancras Station, London London has no shortage of Champagne bars but any wine enthusiasts making a trip to the capital must include a pilgrimage to Searcys Champagne bar in St Pancras station. Boasting the longest bar in Europe, call buttons allowing guests to ‘press’ for more Champagne, and the largest selection of Grand Marque houses in the UK including 17 available by the glass – itÂ’s a Champagne-loversÂ’ institution. Searcy Champagne bar With your facial – Champagne and Truffle Facial at the Verbana Spa, Yorkshire At the award-winning Verbena Spa in Yorkshire, ChampagneÂ’s transformative properties have been harnessed into a seriously luxurious facial, combining Champagne with silk, diamonds, gold and black truffles. A glass of complimentary bubbly is included too, so you can enjoy your Champagne both inside and out. Verbana Spa Nicole Harley is Editor at The Epicurean. 1. I’m not a big Champagne drinker, but I do love a day at the races, so Goodwood is the pick of the bunch for me, closely followed by Bath spa.

  2. Hoping to visit Edinburgh and re visit London later in the year – One Canada Square looks a lovely place for a lazy brunch. Will keep in mind for my next trip! x

  3. I do not have to any where to enjoy champagne. I just need a bottle, some glasses and some friends. Some good weather would be nice but it is not essential
