Dubai’s 3 most unmissable beach hotels

With a 50km long beach running the length of the city, Dubai has its fair share of beach hotels but not all are created equal.  In the city of stop-at-nothing luxury, three properties stand out for their amazing rooms, attentive service and classy opulence. Dar al Masyaf, Madinat Jumeirah The beautiful boutique hotel within the extensive Madinat Jumeirah complex, Dar al Masyaf is a haven set amidst tranquil gardens, exclusive swimming pools and meandering waterways.  A series of Arabian-styled summerhouses, or villas, are scattered throughout the gardens each containing a number of spacious guest rooms set around a courtyard majilis, a traditional seating area, with cool tiles and a trickling fountain. Serenity is the name of the game for Dar al Masyaf guests but there is a butler in each villa to arrange excursions, restaurant bookings or anything else you need if you want to venture out to explore.  A brief call will bring a golf cart or an abra – traditional wooden boat – to whisk you, almost silently, around the Madinat complex.  The Madinat is designed as a traditional town and you could easily spend your entire holiday here.  Within the resort are forty restaurants, water sports, boutiques, an excellent gym, the awarding-winning Talise spa, the innovative DNA integrative personal health centre and DubaiÂ’s longest private beach. Dar al Masyaf -ALTB Guest rooms are as luxurious as you would expect from such a high end property, with tiled floors, king beds, extravagant bathrooms and roomy balconies.  Guests in each villa can mingle in evenings in the indoor or outdoor majilis where the butler serves complimentary sundowners and nibbles. If you are looking for a personalised stay, in incredibly peaceful surroundings, then Dar al Masyaf will bring you all the benefits of a resort along with the exclusivity of the most luxurious boutique hotel you can imagine. Four Seasons, Jumeirah Beach A fresh face on the Dubai hotel scene, the Four Seasons Dubai Jumeirah lives up to the high standards of the brand around the world.  Eschewing the grand lobbies of many Dubai hotels for a more intimate check-in area, the hotel offers beachside luxury in an elegant, approachable style. Within the hotelÂ’s Mediterranean-style exterior lie marbled corridors with high arches and Arabic design touches best described as being opulent without being ostentatious. The 237 rooms and suites are large and airy with roomy balconies which look out over the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf or towards the dramatic skyline of Downtown Dubai and the worldÂ’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. There are ten distinctive dining and lounge areas, including the signature restaurant, Sea Fu, serving Asian seafood, and the breezy rooftop bar-with-a-view, the Mercury Lounge. Four Seasons - ALTB Along with a private beach offering complimentary kayaks and paddle boards, the hotel offers two large, palm-shaded outdoor pools, including a quiet, adults only pool.  In the spa there is also an indoor pool where columns support its glass-domed roof, creating a bright and elegant space to relax after a massage or swim laps after a workout in the well equipped gym. The hotel is the closest beach hotel to both Dubai airport and Dubai Mall.  So, if you want to combine a luxury beach stay with high end shopping in the worldÂ’s largest mall and a visit to the ever-popular Dubai Fountain, the Four Seasons Dubai Jumeirah is the ideal place to lay your head. Residence & Spa at the One and Only Royal Mirage, Jumeirah Beach One of DubaiÂ’s established resorts, One & Only Royal Mirage is outstanding and the refurbished Residence & Spa section is its piece de résistance.  With gently incense-scented corridors, Arabian lanterns and stone floors scattered with Persian rugs, the Residence and Spa leaves guests feeling as if theyÂ’ve stepped into a sheikhÂ’s palace rather than a hotel. One of three hotels within the One and Only resort, the Residence and Spa is the most exclusive and luxurious.  With only 48 rooms, service is attentive, friendly and prompt.  Guests are assigned a ‘teamÂ’ to respond to their needs and they are on call to assist at any time. Guest rooms look towards the Arabian Gulf and have either a balcony or private terrace.  Each is defined by thoughtful layout, classic furnishings and bright fabrics.  Lurking within each room is an extravagant bathroom with mosaic tiled shower and high end toiletries. Residence & Spa - ALTB The perfectly manicured gardens, with their reflecting pools and fountains, lead to a long and pristine private beach where guests can partake in water sports or simply stroll with views out to sea and towards the soaring towers of the nearby Dubai Marina. Guests have the exclusive use of a pool, restaurant and lounge for those staying in this section of the resort. For Arabian design, hospitality and luxury, the Residence and Spa is hard to beat among DubaiÂ’s best hotels. Candice Bain is Founder at Desert to Jungle.
