  1. Food can be fun and can be a nightmare as well if one has no clue as to what is what .Hiring a virtual assistant to research not only the ultimate travel destinations but also the finer details of where to dine and where to go for the super special treatment to your taste buds is a great idea.

  2. I couldn’t agree more with Dhruv. For me, food and fine dining is what makes a trip but I am reluctant to experiment only to be disappointed as has happened to me too many times to recall.

  3. Never a virtual assistant will replace a travel writter or foodie that really tested all restaurants like I did in this article. After all is matter of taste as each of them are differents in food style. For chocoilate and beers I have experimented too before writing and it make a difference.

  4. I’ve a feeling that ‘foodiness’ is becoming overblown nowadays. When I visit another country I want to try traditional local food and to see how it varies from region to region.

Egocentric or star-blown international ‘chefery’ seems to be overshadowing some of Europe’s delectable traditional cuisine and that’s a pity.

‘Fine dining’ should not have to be expensive – and those pictures look very pricy. That’s why, on balance, if someone’s aunt invites you to share a local casserole or taste the plum or quince dessert recipe handed down from her grandmother, that could be a wonderful and memorable gastronomic experience.

One final thing. I believe it’s universally recognised that Belgium makes the world’s best chips – or as Americans prefer to say, French fries. Try those in Bruges – they’ll be cheaper than in Brussels and you’ll never taste better.
