Who charters yachts?

The word ‘superyacht’ is often associated with the world’s rich and famous, however there are many other people who choose yacht charter as their holiday of choice for many reasons. Here’s an insight into the industry’s core clientele and the reasons why yacht charter is so appealing to such a wide range of people. It’s not just billionaires There is often a common misconception that yacht charter is reserved exclusively for the world’s billionaires but, in many instances, this is simply not the case. There is no denying that yacht charter is a highly exclusive holiday, however the costs are often not as much as people imagine, with week-long charter prices starting from as little as £1000 per person based on eight people sharing. It’s inherently flexible We cater for all types of people: from couples looking for a romantic getaway to families who prefer the convenience of having a completely private space where they can relax, dine in style and move between locations without any hassle. Chartering a yacht provides the ability to visit multiple locations in one trip without the need to sit in cars or airport lounges for hours on end. It also has the added benefit of allowing guests to dine in the surroundings of a secluded bay or alcove – there are not many other holidays that can offer this! It’s perfect for a special event One of the other core reasons people decide to charter is for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and honeymoons. We also accommodate a lot of businesses who are looking to impress clients by booking a trackside seat at the Grand Prix or host a static event aboard a yacht. No matter what the occasion or where it is, stepping on board a superyacht is always a memorable experience and a great way to make a first impression or trip to remember. It’s all about the experience I think the two core things that differentiate this kind of getaway against others is the flexibility and privacy that yacht charter offers. It’s the only kind of holiday where your five-star accommodation is also your transport and the added benefit of a private crew is also a huge differentiator to the other options available. Many yachts boast facilities that would rival that of a five-star hotel and as more and more people take to the seas looking for an alternative holiday, it’s easy to see why yacht charter is continuing to grow in popularity. 1. I didn’t know that chartering a yacht could be so affordable; but now I think about it, it makes sense. This looks like a perfect option for an extended family vacation. Our last extended vacation as a family ended being extremely costly, and we all decided we would be looking for something that the whole family could enjoy that was a little more relaxing. I think a yacht would be perfect for that.

  2. Wow, £1000 per person isn’t actually too bad. I love yachts but only been on one once! I’d choose that over a private jet any day, perhaps I should be looking into a week-long charter for my birthday… What a romantic trip that would be, I’m so pleased. So much better than a hotel stay too

  3. Our trip was the best vacation I have ever taken. Everything was complete perfection. Our Captain and crew went above and beyond any expectation, I could have imagined. I thought Nick was amazing, funny, witty and professional. At the end of the trip we wanted to take Vittorio home with us. Every meal was perfection and there was always plenty. He was very eager to make anything that made us happy. Yes, we would absolutely charter the yacht again. It was amazing

  4. I’d say those with more money than they know what to do with it! Although they probably just buy the whole multi million dollar yacht rather than charter it for a week. If you can afford to do it, because to be fair £1,000 starting cost isn’t cheap, then it must be a great way to experience wherever you’re visiting with a lot more convenience and comfort and a lot less stress.

  5. It’s good that you point out that chartering a yacht is a great way for couples to spend a romantic time together. I’ve been looking for something romantic to do with my wife for our upcoming vacation, so I’m considering chartering a yacht. I’m going to look for a good yacht charter company in the area to use.

  6. I found it beneficial when you said that chartering a luxury boat can allow for big parties. My work is wanting to throw a corporate party on a charter boat and we don’t know where to go. We’ll have to find a charter that can hold a lot of our workers.

  7. I didn’t realize that contracting a yacht could be so moderate; however now I consider it, it bodes well. This appears as though an ideal choice for a more distant family get-away. Our last expanded get-away as a family finished being incredibly exorbitant, and we as a whole concluded we would be searching for something that the entire family could appreciate that was somewhat more unwinding. I figure a yacht would be ideal for that.

  8. I like that chartering a yacht enables you to see more than one location during your trip. My sister is getting married next spring, and I want to throw her a really great bachelorette party. I will look into private charters in the area so we can go on a relaxing trip together.

  9. My dad has been thinking about getting a charter for a boat that can be more private for him to go fishing. He would really like to get some help from a professional to be safer on the water. I liked what you said about how they can visit different locations with an experience like a hotel.

  10. I don’t know where you are getting the 1000 per week per person but it might be different in 2023.My patents decided to charter a crewed yacht in Croatia for them, the children and grandkids for an extended family vacation and it is costing them over 40000 euros per week. It is a lot of fun, I am sitting out in the back dining v area in a beautiful bay at midnight typing this, but it is not as cheap as you stated anymore.

    1. Hi Mark – in case you didn’t spot it, the article is from 2017. The figure quoted is a starting price, based on 8 people sharing. It will no doubt be on an entry level yacht, probably in a less popular resort at low season. If you are in Croatia now, bear in mind that we are approaching peak season for yachting holidays there… and we’re more than half a decade on from when the article was written. 😉
