Hotels in Las Vegas are far more than places to sleep. They are actual tourism destinations! Las Vegas is synonymous with luxurious over the top experiences and activities and the hotels on offer are no exception. Here are my top 5 Luxury Hotel Experiences to have in Las Vegas:
The Bellagio
The Bellagio is one of the most famous hotels in Vegas thanks to its role in several big Hollywood movies. It is also very well known for its famous fountains show. This light and water extravaganza happens every night. The show begins at 8pm and then runs every 15 minutes.
Anyone walking along the strip can enjoy the show. However, the best way to enjoy the show is to watch it whilst having dinner at one of The Bellagio’s fantastic six restaurants. Arrive at dinner early and visit the amazing Conservatory and Botanical Garden at the hotel. When I visited this area held a beautiful display that aimed to recreate the island of Capri. The Bellagio also has a fine art museum.
Of course, the hotel also has a casino! There are other bars, a golf course, shows and loads more.
The Venetian and The Palazzo
These two lovely hotels are twinned or owned by the same people and linked together. Their shared shopping arcade is an amazing recreation of the canals and streets of Venice. You can even ride on a gondola through the shopping centre. On the strip, you will see their recreation of St Marks Square.
Both restaurants are filled with fantastic restaurants – I highly recommend Morels and the Bouchon. Tao is a day beach club which is in addition to the 10 pools to choose from between the two hotels. There is a branch of the famous Canyon Ranch Spa for a treatment or a spray tan.
The Venetian and the Palazzo claim to offer the largest rooms on the Strip. Having stayed there I can vouch for the fact that the rooms are huge. The one I stayed in had a sunken living room and I believe this is rather standard.
Wynn
The Wynn is an ultra-modern hotel – the building itself is stunning. It also offers a fountain show but this one is actually on the Strip and runs during the day. The massive lobby is beautifully decorated in a very Instagram friendly way.
Like the other hotels in Vegas Wynn offers shows, great restaurants and casinos. It is also known for having the best buffet in town. Buffets are a Vegas tradition – amazing endless spreads of all you can eat food – often accompanied by an all you can drink mimosas offer.
The large atrium that houses the buffet is stunning. It is filled with artistic fake flower arrangements that give the room almost an Alice in Wonderland fantasy feel. And then there is the buffet. Wow! It is huge. The seafood selection, in particular, is excellent. Virtually every cuisine in the world is represented with different dedicated areas.
Desserts have their own separate room with of course an entire gelato counter. I highly recommend that you eat minimally on the day you visit the buffet and pace yourself. It is possible to book ahead and there is a chance to queue jump by paying a bit extra.
New York New York
As you may have guessed this hotel is a recreation of New York City! The Brooklyn Bridge sits on the strip. The Empire State and Chrysler buildings are represented. New York neighbourhoods are recreated inside and allow you to have genuine new york dining experiences.
There is a bar at Times Square and you can also visit the Coyote Ugly bar, inspired by the film and the original bar. Offset those drinks by enjoying pizza, burgers or visiting a steakhouse for dinner. Tom’s Urban is a great modern Amercian dining offer on the Strip. And for dessert don’t forget to pop in and visit The Chocolate Bar!
Caesars Palace
When I hear the words Caesars Palace I imagine Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra sitting at a casino table smoking cigars with neat dark spirits in front of them! This is perhaps the classic Vegas hotel. Caesar’s Palace looks to bring to life the world of Roman times with flying lions and classic columns.
They do have an actual Cigar bar as well as some of the hottest restaurants in town. I had a fantastic meal at Nobu when I was there. Gordon Ramsay and Mr Chow also have restaurants there. In addition, there are, of course, casinos as well as some fantastic live shows.
Las Vegas is perhaps the only place I have ever visited where some of the best tourist attractions are actually the hotels! All of the hotels above are worth a visit if you’re not staying there. They all also make for some great photo opportunities both outside and inside!
