Exploring Barbados from your luxury villa base

Located in the eastern Caribbean, there is little question as to why Barbados is such a popular location for holidaymakers seeking a slice of heaven.  When you team that with a luxury vacation rental property you really are looking at creating the holiday of a lifetime with memories that will endure forever.  From one of the many magnificent and bespoke villas available in Barbados, you are well placed to explore the wonders of the island or indeed relax and unwind by your private pool and in some cases languish on your secluded beach – what could be more amazing.  While there are so many beautiful things to do while in Barbados I have hand-picked just a few for you to try. Atlantis submarines A truly unforgettable experience and a chance to explore the seas around you.  Submarine tours are family friendly and understandably popular, so booking is essential.  This is a perfect way to see what lives under the sea in the fabulous clear waters, whether you choose to go during the day or take advantage of the unique night tours the views are fantastic.  Upgrade to VIP Guest to make the most of your time. Eco and nature tours While you are in Barbados, you want to make sure you see as much as possible.  Taking a tour deep into the caves or get back to nature while strolling in gardens and gullies.  Barbados is famous for the green monkey so you need to be sure to meet him on your travels, where you will also see some enchantingly coloured birds.  Many of the tours are suitable for children and families, while others are more suited to adults only but with so many on offer, you are sure to find something to suit everyone. Visit the four corners Being an island, you will have plenty of time to visit the coastline in all four corners.  Each compass point is as different as the next so be sure to make it to all of them – there’s a wide choice of car rentals and guides on the island if needed.  The north coast is rugged and unspoiled, with fantastic views and unspoiled sands reaching into private coves.  In the south, you will find a lively buzz as you hit the water sports capital and explore the fantastic coral reefs.  In the east, the beaches stretch out creating the perfect walks with breathtaking views and a lazier surf hangout and finally in the west you will discover crystal clear waters and white sands where you can unwind, swim and even surf. Visit Concorde Barbados and Concorde have a long history and only a few years ago, a flight would arrive in the morning each day at virtually the same time it left UK. At Grantley Adams airport, one of these beautiful machines forms the Concorde exhibit which is a fascinating way to spend a couple of hours. You’ll even get a chance to hop aboard and sit in the seats of the rich and famous. Back to the villa For some people, holidays are about unwinding rather than always being on the go, and a luxury rental villa is one of the best places to do this whilst holidaying in Barbados.  Villas offer a unique experience, some with tennis courts and pools, some with games rooms and jacuzzis but all with your own private chef.  When it’s time for dinner, either eat in with your private chef or take a trip out to the Cliff for a magical dining experience. Barbados really has it all. Kerrie Potts is CEO at Exclusive Private Villas Limited. Exclusive Private Villas offers exquisite, handpicked luxury villas around the world. 1. I was searching through the ALTB back pages – I’m Caribbean Dreaming of a Trip next year – when I found this.

I had always dreamed of saving up my pennies and treating myself to a trip on Concorde but sadly that’s not going to happen.

It looks as if the best I can do is call into Grantley Adams and take a look st the beautiful old creature there.
