  1. I’ve been to the ice bar and it is every bit as ‘cool’ as you might expect. Take a tour of the ice hotel and it will include a visit to the bar, where even the glasses are made of ice… how cool is that!?

  2. I love the ice bar so many people have tried to replicate something similar but there is no match for the original. I just came back from Paris we went for our anniversary and we always go to 228. It really is as sophisticated and relaxing as it seems I think sometimes exclusive bars can be a bit stiff but I can always relax and have a good time there. We are currently planning a trip to Vegas so will have to spend some time at the tower suite. Now to get planning.

  3. There is a fascinating idea here which could be taken a lot further – maybe with s companion piece.

I have some wealthy friends who like a challenge. They would see the bars listed as inspiration for the ultimate upmarket “bar crawl”!

I would have liked to have seen a few more recommendations for Asia and maybe Africa too. Some of the Safari Lodges allow you to have a drink or two in stupendous settings.
