Vuelio Blog Awards 2018

I am delighted to announce that A Luxury Travel Blog has been shortlisted for another award. Earlier this week, an email landed in my inbox, congratulating me on being shortlisted as a finalist for the Travel & Leisure Category in the Vuelio Blog Awards 2018. Vuelio, for those who don’t know, is a leading UK provider of PR software, offering a media database, media monitoring, a press release distribution service and media analysis. They provide media intelligence solutions and communication insights that help consumers plan, manage and measure their communication performance and ultimately, build their reputation. They also produce regular ‘top 10’ blog rankings for different industry niches – everything from luxury travel to healthcare and fashion (and a lot more besides) – and we frequently top their top 10 luxury travel blogs list. The Vuelio Blog Awards are the most respected accolades available for the best UK bloggers and influencers. Independently judged, the Vuelio Blog Awards are considered the Oscars of the industry. Accompanying us in the finalists shortlist for the Travel & Leisure Category are A Lady In London, Global Grasshopper, Hand Luggage Only, Two Monkeys Travel and Wish Wish Wish. We wish everyone the best of luck! The winners will be announced at the Vuelio Blog Awards 2018 which takes place on the 30th November at the Bloomsbury Big Top in London.

  1. I follow quite a number of travel blogs – and particularly luxury travel blogs – and would have to say that yours is easily the best. Regularly updated, with always something new and interesting to read each time I visit. I could lose myself for hours on this site sometimes!

    1. Thank you, Jake. That’s very generous of you and I’m pleased to hear you enjoy your visits here and find the content interesting. We aim to please and deliver good quality content, and it’s always lovely to hear from our regular readers.

  2. I have also visited a number of different travel blogs over the years, but there aren’t many I go back to. For me, there is too much vanity in travel blogs these days, and the blog is invariably far too much about the blogger and his/her ego and not so much about the destination. The thing I like about A Luxury Travel Blog is that the focus is on… well, luxury travel.

    1. Thank you, Emma. You make an interesting point: you’re right that blogs in general (and perhaps travel blogs in particular) often tend to have the blogger (or bloggers, if it’s a couple/family) at the fore. Right from the onset, that was never my intention with A Luxury Travel Blog. There are a very small handful of pictures of myself or my family on here, but generally I prefer to remain fairly private in that respect, preferring to photograph the locations we visit when the posts are about my own travels. Also, as a multi-author blog (we have had more than 600 different contributors to date), our situation is a little bit different to that of many other travel blogs, but hopefully not the worse for it! Just different. :-)

Thanks for following us, and do keep coming back – we have big plans afoot!

  3. This sounds like a great awards and huge congratulations for getting nominated. Fingers crossed for you and I hope you have an amazing time on the night. Running a blog is super hard work and awards like this are so important on recognising that hard work. I always really enjoy reading your blog! Not long now we all can’t wait to hear how you do.

  4. The fact is that we all need a little luxury and a little hope in our lives. Well, some of us need quite a lot of luxury. A Luxury Travel Blog really has a global perspective and scours the planet for its stories. It’s that vision which makes it such a successful publication.

And many of your entries are very well written too. I like the lists of “10 activities” etc. They are focused and quickly tell you what you need to know. Personally, I haven’t got time to read waffle.

    Congratulations and Good Luck!

  5. Where A Luxury Travel Blog soars ahead of the individual Blogger is the fact that it is global. Recently we have had the pleasure of pieces on Antarctic cruises, a journey via Mauritius and the Galapagos both somewhere near the Equator but in different continents, and then up to Greenland for a phenomenal video of the Northern Lights. Where else would you get such diversity but all experienced in total luxury?
