Please help raise awareness: today is Melanoma Monday

The American Academy of Dermatology designates today, the first Monday in May, as Melanoma Monday® to raise awareness of melanoma and other types of skin cancer. Melanoma is the most deadly form of cancer and the fastest-growing cancer in the world. If it’s caught early, the chances of recovery are very high. If not, it can often be fatal – although it only accounts for around 4% of skin cancers, it is responsible for around 80% of skin cancer deaths.  See the AAD’s guide on helping to prevent skin cancer and information on how to check your skin, and please use today as an opportunity to spread the word and raise awareness – in doing so, you could be saving someone’s life.
