Getting inside Dali’s mind must be absolutely fascinating. His work was very radical and absolute revolutionary. Even though it was so different it appeals to many people. There must be something in our minds that he was able to make a connection with.

    • Sandra Roig says:

I couldn’t agree with you more Fiona! Dalí had an intrinsic power to connect with us through his masterpieces, now is the time to explore the mind of this genius!

  2. Kenny Ralph says:

Past and present exhibitions are always fascinating. When you look at the details they often tell many different stories. Hopefully, I can drop into the Poble Espanyol exhibition sometime.

  3. Rachel says:

Spending a morning or afternoon at a gallery is one of the unwritten travel rules that my partner and I have when we do a trip.

It helps you to slow down and relax. Oddly, going to an exhibition is something that we never seem to find the time to do when we are at home which is why a gallery visit seems such an indulgent treat when we’re travelling.

    • Sandra Roig says:

Dear Rachel, visiting an art gallery is a fantastic way to explore the culture of a country while travelling, as you said. If you come to Barcelona this summer, you can’t miss these exhibitions!

  4. Ted says:

I never knew that Picasso worked with ceramics too. He’s such an interesting character, one of the iconic figures of the 20th century, that it’s always interesting to know how his work was developing. A long time ago I went to an exhibition of his early work in Malaga. Although it was interesting it was very different to the way he saw the world at its peak by which I mean Guernica. Which I’ve wondered at in Madrid.

    • Sandra Roig says:

Picasso was a great artist who devoted his life to different types of art, including ceramics. I recommend Ted, if you have the opportunity, to visit this exhibition in Barcelona, where you can admire the pieces that inspired him throughout his life. Thank you for your comment!

  5. Suzy Willis says:

5 lovely bonuses for anyone lucky enough to be visiting Barcelona this summer.

Remember that these really are bonuses in the city of Gaudi where there is art everywhere.

    • Sandra Roig says:

Dear Julie, I couldn’t agree with you more! Barcelona is a city full of art and magic everywhere!

  6. Lara says:

As I spent a magical year studying in Barcelona when I was only 20, I love reading these regular posts on my favourite city as they help to bring the memories flooding back.

Back then I would often come across an exhibition, as long as it had discount tickets for students, and be amazed at what a great hub Barcelona was for the arts.

    • Sandra Roig says:

Dear Lara, thank you for your nice comment! Moving to this city during the study years is a great opportunity to experience its life as a whole and take the opportunity to discover the immense art that grows here.

  7. Diana Presley says:

The “After the fog” exhibition is breaking new ground for exhibitions appealing to a variety of senses. As technology develops and becomes more sophisticated are we going to be experiencing more of this type of exhibition?

    • Sandra Roig says:

Dear Diana, did you have the opportunity to visit this exhibition? Nowadays art and technology go more and more hand in hand, so although we don’t know what the future will bring, we will probably have the opportunity to experience more exhibitions like this one that appeal to our senses.
