Dubai Metro

Dubai MetroThere’s never a dull moment in Dubai.   If they’re not building whole archipelagos in the shape of palm trees (or even in the shape of the world), they’re building huge indoor ski domes or the world’s largest building and first 7-star hotel.   All this is placing a burden on Dubai’s infrastructure and most notably it’s traffic situation.  The Dubai Metro – at a projected cost of  $4 billion  – could just alleviate the problems.  The all-electric trains will  be fully automated and are  expected to start operating in 2009.

  1. This is an interesting project for dubai and will certainly open it up and hopefully ease the traffic which is a nightmare at the best of times. I wonder if the current economic situation will stall the opening date as dubai seems to have ground to a halt.
