Worm farm at the Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town

I doubt this is a first but the Mount Nelson Hotel at Cape Town has started its own worm farm. Left-overs from the hotel’s restaurants are ‘fed’ to the worms, and the worms’ by-product (let’s try to keep this clean!) get re-used by the hotel gardeners to maintain the beautiful grounds. It seems such an obvious thing to do but I wonder how widespread the practice is within the luxury hotel sector.
