The changing positions of luxury hotels in the Big Apple

Hotel GansevoortThere’s an interesting article in the New York-based Business Travel News about how luxury hotels in Manhattan are sprouting up in what appear to be less than likely locations, and not necessarily in the highly desirable locations that you might expect. The article cites the Hotel on Rivington on the Lower East Side, the Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District, The Maritime Hotel in Chelsea and  60 Thompson in SoHo as examples. It seems like guests are increasingly appreciating being among bars, restaurants and nightlife, especially the younger business travellers.
