Photograph of the week: Stork at sunset

This is a view at sunset from the roof terrace at Dar Les Cigognes of the “Royal Storks” so called because they rest/nest on the ramparts of the Royal Palace as they migrate from Europe along the coast of Africa every year. This stork is in the process of clacking its beak like a castanet, which they do as part of their mating call. It is an incredible sound, particularly when there are hundreds of them in residence in the Spring and Fall during the migration. Thank you to The Sanssouci Collection for permission to re-produce the image. If you have a really special photograph you would like to share with  A Luxury Travel Blog‘s readers, please contact us.
