For those interested in timing, we start seeing whales on Maui around November (as early as October, but not frequently) and they stay here to give birth through early April. There are a number of whale watching tours that go out daily, including the ones operated by the Pacific Whale Foundation. The channel between Lanai and Maui is known as one of the best places to see these amazing mammals.
