Discover the magic of the Maldives with luxury yacht SAFIRA

When you think of a luxury getaway it’s usually a tropical paradise that first comes to mind, and the Maldives has so much hidden beauty just waiting to be discovered with the freedom that luxury yacht SAFIRA brings. Fill your hours with water sports, sunbathing and catching up with family and friends while your Captain keeps your itinerary on schedule and your professional crew provide six-star service. Malé is often a first stop for visitors because of its easy international flight connections. Once you’re on solid ground, Sultan Park has all the highlights for those who want a whirlwind tour: The old and new National Museums have large and detailed collections, and the combined National Library & Art Gallery is just a short walk away. The surrounding area has numerous options for boutique shoppers, then leave behind the main tourist hubs and resorts to access the region’s best snorkelling and dive sites, pristine white sand beaches and unblemished reefs teeming with sea life. Motor yacht SAFIRA is designed for the shallows and can host up to 40 guests on board for dockside events, while the overnight accommodation sleeps 12 guests in a choice of 12 double or twin en-suite cabins. The minimalist interiors offer plenty of space and light, and are furnished to contemporary standards throughout. The lounge on the main deck forward is the perfect place to gather everyone together at the start of the day, and the games consoles and selection of films will keep guests of all ages entertained while cruising. The aft dining room offers plenty of space for group meals in an air conditioned environment, and it can be used as a second lounge for pastimes such as board games. There is an abundance of outdoor space where guests can admire the brilliant blue waters over morning coffee shaded by a canvas bimini, or while sipping on a cocktail in the sundeck Jacuzzi. M/Y SAFIRA comes with 12 Scuba dives included in her charter price, in addition to instruction and spa massage services for fitness and indulgence every day. The wonderful treatments last from 30 minutes to a full hour and include the Adam & Eve couple’s massage using aromatic oils, Thai and Balinese massages and exfoliating body scrubs. From Malé the nearby Huvadhoo Atoll boasts 255 scenic islands, and you can cruise from one sun-drenched shore to the next, snorkelling and Scuba diving at each stop for unforgettable encounters with manta rays, sea turtles, whale sharks and other incredible species. One of the best wreck sites in the region is the BRITISH LOYALTY at Villingili, and the northern atolls have myriad drift dives like the ‘Boahurra Express’ and ‘Shark’s Tongue’ to enthral more experienced divers. The Isdhoo and Maabaidhoo Kandu dive sites within the Laamau Atoll have 20 different species of dolphin and whales to follow in the current. Romantics will find themselves cruising from one idyllic location to the next, but some places in the Maldives are like nowhere else on Earth: On Vaadhoo Island the waves glow blue with bioluminescent algae after dark, creating a natural spectacle that will remain in memory for its beauty. Luxury yacht SAFIRA has a large selection of water toys, among them a jet ski, a variety of towable toys, snorkelling equipment and paddleboards, and while on the move guests can burn energy in the sundeck gym. When all anyone wants is to savour the peace and quiet, the group can dine alfresco on the beaches shaded from the midday heat and rest on the sands and watch the fiery sunset turn into starry night skies. 1. One of the many regrets of my life is that I’ve never got round to learning to dive. Over the last few years I’ve been to some places where there’s been fantastic diving and never quite had the time to do a course. It would definitely be worth getting qualified before going to the Maldives to take advantage of the 12 inclusive dives. The sites look fantastic. And The Maldives is one of the places on my bucket-list though until this year I was steadily knocking places off my list.

    1. Hi Ben,
There are many yachts that offer the possibility to learn to dive and get the qualifications. We’re happy to help finding the right one!

  2. This has got to be the ultimate dream boat for a big celebration. Imagine cruising round the Maldives with your closest family and friends. The ultimate party boat.

    1. Looking way ahead to when the world will hopefully be normal in 2022 it is a really huge year for our family. We’ve got a golden wedding, 50th birthdays, a 75th and some 60ths. Who knows we may even have some engagements? A few of us are planning retirement by then too.

I’m not sure that we could fill the Safira but it’s something worth thinking about. It would be such a memorable way to celebrate.

    2. Hello Gaynor,
We are happy to help with the arrangements. Safira is a fabulous yacht with fantastic crew on board and not to mention the services. Don’t hesitate to reach out for a proposal and a free quote for the family get-together! And if Safira won’t be the right choice, we have many other options to look at for you.

  3. What appeals to me most is the freedom. To be honest I’m not sure that I would want a holiday that is all pristine white beaches and diving. Even I could get bored of paradise. The chance to call into Male for some culture and shopping would be very tempting.

    1. Hello Lynne,

Anything can be arranged and there are endless possibilities for fun activities, adventure and day trips :) The yacht also has fabulous water toys and equipment!

  4. From everything I’ve read or seen about the Maldives they seem a dream destination and a little bit more magical as I’ve heard that some of the islands are endangered by rising sea levels. I doubt that there is any better way to enjoy the islands than on a luxury yacht like Safira. Which makes me think. Is there any specially meaning behind the choice of the name of the boat?

    1. Hello Sunil,

Could be the Saphire blue waters of the Maldives or the blue hull of the yacht … In any case, you are right, the Maldives is a magical place indeed!

  5. I didn’t think one would think of going on a yacht in Maldives. I would be tempted to stay in my resort because I know I can have the sea and diving right outside my room. But I guess being able to go to a great diving spot is pretty alluring for some. And being able to relax and meet new people with the same interests would be awesome as well.

    1. Hi Imogen,
Cruising Maldives aboard a yacht is a truly unique experience. Safira specialises in yacht charters, so you would have the entire boat for yourself and your family, while a professional crew would look after you, offering personalised meals and service and made-to-measure itinery … Resorts are beautiful and a great way to holiday for sure, however a yacht offers more flexibility and at the same time privacy :)

  6. SAFIRA has got to be the best looking wedding reception venue! I find it a lovely idea to celebrate my most precious day with the closest family and friends aboard. The intimate party aboard SAFIRA in Maldives will be a prefect dream not far from reality. Did I just miss it or was the estimated cost not mentioned? In any case, I would certainly plan a getaway with family on a private yacht nearby soon.

    1. Hello Eden,

We would be more than happy to provide you with a free quote depending on the dates and availability. Don’t hesitate to reach out! :)

  7. The pandemic made me realize that I have been missing out on a lot of new experiences. I am used to doing the same thing during vacations over and over again – beach and staying in hotels. I was not able to consider new ideas like this. It would be really exciting to try this one out once the effects of covid-19 subside. I am still hesitant to travel due to the surge of positive cases again. What I am looking forward to this experience the most is diving and having a Thai massage as well. I am also curious about the type of cuisine that they are serving and how amazing it is to dine under the stars. It would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience and I am really hoping that I will get a chance to try it out. Here’s to hoping that 2021 will be the year we beat Covid-19.

    1. Thank you Z.Kay, a luxury yacht charter is definitely the most satisfying way to holiday, which will leave you and your family with plenty of memories to cherish for a lifetime. Do let me know and I can provide you with detailed information about the yacht and also other options.
