World Cup 2006 - Group E: Italy team hotel

Landhaus MilserItaly will be one of eight teams lodging in the North Rhine Westphalia. They are going to be staying at Landhaus Milser  in Duisburg. (Druisburg, incidentally, was host to the World Games 2005, the world’s biggest multi-sport event for non-Olympic disciplines.) Leisure facilities at the hotel include whirlpool, tennis courts and gymnasium. Rooms are well equipped, as you would expect with a hotel of this quality.

The above is one of a series of blog entries highlighting the luxury hotels that will be home to the national teams participating in the 2006 Fifa World Cup. 1. […] The Landhaus Milser had three unexpected, but nevertheless welcome, guests in one of its beds last night.   Home to the Italian national football side for the last month, the hotel put on 350 bottles of spumante (note, not French Champagne!)… as if the celebrations needed a little help! And the three in a bed, you ask?  They were Fabio Cannavaro, his son Christian and the World Cup itself.  Apparently, the Italian camptain was honouring a promise to his son if Italy won. Congratulations to the Azzurri on their World Cup win!
