At first glance, the answer might seem simple: the destinations costing 26,000 Avios offer the best value because they require the smallest point spend. But when it comes to Avios, value isn’t just about spending the fewest points—it’s about what you get in return for the amount you drop.

If you’re looking to get the most trips out of your Avios pot as possible, Corsica, Valencia, Seville and Rimini are all excellent choices. At just 26,000 Avios plus £2 return, they’re some of the cheapest British Airways reward flights available, leaving you with plenty of Avios to use on your next holiday. For me, those destinations are all ideal for weekend city breaks, long weekends or a spontaneous escape without making a big dent in your balance.

Spending an extra 4,000 Avios on British Airways reward flights however, can unlock destinations that feel much further from home. For 30,000 Avios, you could be exploring the culture of Marrakech, relaxing on the sun-kissed shores of Kefalonia or Zakynthos, island hopping along Croatia’s Adriatic coast or enjoying a luxury getaway at a five star resort on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. Considering these flights are only a few thousand Avios per person more than Spain or Italy, many collectors would consider them exceptional value. Myself included. 

Before booking British Airways reward flights, you should always compare what you’d normally pay for the flight in cash with the Avios cost (and cash taxes) you’ll pay for your reward booking.
