A new beach club on its own castaway Turkish island

Neilson is opening its new Beachplus club in Turkey on its very own island in Marmaris Bay in May this year. The club is an addition to Neilson’s existing resorts in Ortakent, Teos and Foca. Club Adakoy will boast of all inclusive waterskiing, tennis, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and mountain biking and is located just 10 minutes by boat, from the restaurants, bars and bazaar of Marmaris. Marmaris Bay is a large natural harbour and Club Adakoy has a very special location within that bay, joined to the mainland by a causeway. Guests arrive by coach from the airport but are then able to explore by foot, bike, kayak or dolmus whilst at night water taxis take ten minutes to whisk them into the heart of Marmaris. Club Adakoy will also offer Stay and Sail holidays where guests can learn to sail in the first week whilst staying on shore and enjoying all the other activities available, before casting off to explore the Turkish coastline as skipper of their own yacht on flotilla in the second week. In addition to all the ‘club’ activities the resort offers, Neilson is pleased to be taking yachts back to Turkey. It’s been almost 10 years since the company moved its fleets out of the Bodrum area into the more sheltered waters off the Greek Islands. The protected waters in and around Marmaris are simply perfect for cruising. Unique to Adakoy, Neilson will also be able to offer powerboat training to RYA level 2 qualification (at a supplement) for the very first time. The company now operates close to 150 yachts and a big part of its programme is teaching guests to sail. Neilson was the first overseas company to teach sailing to the UK’s Royal Yachting Association (RYA) standards and over the past 25 years has introduced thousands to the joys of sailing their own yachts along the Mediterranean coast. With predictable weather, no tides and boats set-up to make sailing easy, Neilson’s ‘Stay & Sail’ programme is unique to the industry.
