I’m disappointed to say that I haven’t stayed in any of these. Nor have I ever been to Dubrovnik. On top of that I generally prefer hotels that are small and intimate. On those criteria my first choice would probably be the Villa Orsula Dubrovnik. Never eaten at a Peruvian restaurant and I would be very keen to give that a try.
The Villa Orsula is definitely a great choice and perfect is you are looking for that boutique stay. I would absolutely recommend it.
Well, I was hoping to possibly visit Italy this summer — my parents had plans to fly there in September. They haven’t been canceled YET I don’t think, but we’ll see. I was also in Eastern Europe last summer, and I regret not visiting the coast because Dubrovnik is high up on my list. Montenegro looks like another place in the region that is becoming increasingly popular, and I can see why!
Yes, unfortunately, we might not be able to visit Europe for some time, but when we can, Italy, Dubrovnik and Montenegro should definitely be on your list.
Good title. Nice tone. We all need a bit of blue sky thinking and optimism for when these grim days are over. As many people will have gone months without travelling I imagine they will push the boat out when they are free to travel and go for one of these top class hotels.
Never knew the Ritz Carlton had properties in Spain, I bet that one in Abama is pretty nice. You always hear how classically swanky Ritz hotels are but I’ve never stayed in one myself, wouldn’t say to seeing the luxury digs for myself. I had intended on doing Italy towards the end of this year but I don’t think that’ll happen now. Luckily we are usually last minute bookers so there’s no loss there. I’ll have to check out the Grand Hotel because I’m liking the look of that backing right onto the water at the dock, that looks amazing. Some incredible places here, and it’s nice to see a wee Scottish inclusion because Scotland could rival a few destination abroad for natural beauty.
The Abama is a really popular hotel for Inspiring Travel Company customers as well. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo is beautiful as well.
I’m sure that a trip to Scotland can hopefully be booked sooner rather than later and a trip to Gleneagles would be ideal. You are absolutely right – Scotland’s beauty has few peers.
Any news yet on the lifting of restrictions and which countries we can or can’t visit from the UK? I’ve heard that Portugal is likely to be off-limits, but places like France and Spain are more likely to gain approval. I would love to get away but am keen to hear where it’s best to go currently.
Ministers confirmed on Friday night (26 June) that people returning from certain countries from 6 July onwards will no longer be required to self isolate for 14 days once they return to the UK. A list of confirmed travel corridors is set to be published on Wednesday (29 June), with Italy, Greece and Spain expected to feature. A summer holiday in Europe is definitely starting to seem possible!
