Live in luxury at Apes Hill Barbados courtesy of Savile Row Travel
Imagine a place where time slows and the only sense of it passing is the movement of light and shadow over the emerald green landscape – a place where luxury intertwines seamlessly with nature. Welcome to Apes Hill Barbados, a resort and community etched into the lush hills of a Caribbean paradise.

Perched high above Barbados’ western coastline, Apes Hill combines sophistication with wild beauty. It’s where manicured golf greens meet untamed jungle, where the horizon dances between the cerulean blue of the Atlantic Ocean and the turquoise tranquillity of the Caribbean Sea. This duality is the beating heart of Apes Hill — a sanctuary where opposites harmonise to create something utterly unique.

To call Apes Hill a golfer’s paradise is to understate its allure. Designed with an eco-conscious philosophy, the 18-hole championship golf course is as much a journey through nature as it is a test of skill. Each hole offers something new, from the dramatic elevation changes to the strategically placed water features that both challenge and reward.

And let’s not forget about the resort’s sustainability credentials. In an era where “eco-friendly” often feels like a buzzword, Apes Hill sets a benchmark. Solar panels discreetly power the resort’s operations, and rainwater harvesting ensures sustainability without compromise. Even the golf course’s grass has been carefully chosen for its drought-resistant properties, reducing water usage while maintaining a lush aesthetic. Here, luxury treads lightly, leaving a smaller carbon footprint.

And the leisure offering doesn’t stop at just golf, of course. Apes Hill embodies wellness with an ethos that revolves around nurturing mind, body and soul. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in rejuvenation. Imagine yoga sessions at sunrise or spa treatments that draw upon locally sourced ingredients. Even the air at Apes Hill — a blend of salt, sea and frangipani — feels medicinal.

Unlike many luxury resorts, Apes Hill fosters a sense of belonging and, with it, a true sense of community.

Its residences are modern yet still rooted in Barbadian heritage – private retreats with impeccable designs to make the most of their breathtaking views.

You’ll want to explore those surroundings, too. Hiking trails weave through lush terrain, revealing hidden vistas and the occasional troop of monkeys. Polo matches bring an old-world charm to the region and Barbados’ famed beaches, with their powdery sands and crystal waters, are just a short drive away.

At its core, Apes Hill understands that luxury isn’t about excess but essence. It’s about the rustle of wind through trees, the quiet satisfaction of a perfect tee shot, and the laughter of children chasing fireflies. Here, life’s simplest pleasures take centre stage, elevated by an almost otherworldly setting.

I’ve always wanted to go to Barbados, in fact I’d like to do anywhere in the Caribbean. Apes Hill is more to my taste than a beach resort and a top quality golf course is always a big draw for me.
There’s an old Bajan saying that if you eat a morsel of flying fish you will return to this paradise island.
I ate more than a morsel on my last visit to the Oistins Fish Fry. I’d like to base the next visit around Apes Hill.
The design is phenomenal, echoes of light, breezy, colonial living. Love it.
We all like some peace and quiet to get away from it all and Apes Hill looks very laid-back. But there are times when we want to get back to civilisation. How easy is it to see some of Barbados’ other sights? How far away are they?
And I thought I knew Barbados. No idea where Apes Hill is !
It’s always good to have travel organised by professional travel experts such as Savile Row, especially in case something goes wrong and the pros are there to piece everything back together again.
I’m a firm believer in having something to look forward to, a treat, light at the end of the tunnel.
This is always a tough time at work and I’m hoping that my bonus will cover a reward, something big and memorable like a stay in Barbados.
Over the decades Barbados has become one of our favourite go-to getaways when work and weather in the UK get a little too much.
Having said that we are always open to trying a new luxury retreat and Apes Hill has got plenty to tempt us especially with that golf course.
I’ve always heard so much about Barbados yet still haven’t visited. We’ve got friends who absolutely adore the island and go there to watch cricket whenever England tour.
I’m not into cricket that much though I’d happily do a day to soak up the atmosphere then for the rest of my week or 10 days I’d want to relax at Apes Hill.
You’re right to start with those words about time slowing. We all live too fast nowadays. It’s so good to step off the treadmill every now and then to step into another dimension like Apes Hill and rebuild physically and mentally. What a wonderful place for some restorative R & R!
Doing some internet research for dream accommodation in Barbados, luckily I came across this post.
There’s talk of my son having a school cricket tour to Barbados next Easter holidays.
If I’m going to have to swelter watching him play cricket then my wife and I deserve to go back to some luxury for the evenings.
