  1. I can also heartily recommend Villa The Sanctuary https://villathesanctuarybali.com/ which I was fortunate enough to stay at recently. Off the beach and off the beaten track but utterly stunning in it’s jungle hideaway. 9 Rooms, up to 20 staff, it’s more like a boutique hotel than a villa and the perfect place for a wedding or special birthday.

  2. Thanks for sharing Villa The Sanctuary, Cath…

I can’t think of another place that offers so many beautiful villas than Bali… There some amazing properties there and having to choose just one property is not fair…

  3. Hi Carmen,

These all look divine! Have you ever published something similar but for small families? We’re looking for a villa in Bali that has the luxury feel but also allows for a small child. We want a decedent but child friendly escape!

    Thanks,
    Cat

  4. In Bali you will find thousands of luxury villas, one more beautiful than the other. But the best thing to do is enjoy the beautiful island and its people, not just the villa.

  5. Hi again Cat,

I haven’t written articles about other villas (yet). All I know is that some of these villas can be flexible. They can rent you half of their property if needed. I guess it all depends on the season that you’re planning on flying to Bali…

  6. Hi Laura,

I totally agree with you. Bali is an amazing island and it will take you more than a few days to discover it… if that’s what you’re looking to do. But, if you’re looking for a place to relax and get together with family/friends, the size, service and amenities of the villa can make a big difference.

The reason I wrote this article was to help people that haven’t been to Bali yet, to get familiar with the different neighborhoods and villa choices around the island. All I can say, is that not everybody likes to be near Kuta or Seminyak. From personal experience, I had a hard time deciding which location would be best for me and my family.

My recommendation for those who haven’t been to Bali is to define what kind of activities you’re inclined to do. Bali is a big island and getting from one side to the other will take a few hours of your day, mainly because of the traffic conditions.

  7. What a contrast, beautiful accommodation that is real eye candy, versus the book I have just started reading ‘Snowing in Bali’ by Kathryn Bonella, about the Bali drugs trade!

  8. Hi,
I’m lucky to have visited many of these villas. They are truly breathtaking. For couples and smaller families, you don’t have to choose a hotel and miss out on the villa experience. Cheers

  9. Wow, what a spectacular villas! Truly Bali is the perfect place for a holiday vacation either you spend it with your family or with your friends. If I can just afford to visit these villas one by one, then I would love to do so. Anyhow, what stands out for me is the Villa Bayuh Sabbah because of its privacy and the beautiful views of the ocean. The villa is very neat and spacious. The pool is really perfect for us and for the kids. This place is the true definition of comfort and relaxation. I’m looking forward to visit the place soon.
