It’s a dog’s life

President Bush in New DelhiA couple of days ago I blogged about how President Bush’s visit to New Delhi was resulting in 100% occupancy for all of the city’s five star hotels.  Today I learned more about what a Presidential visit entails and discovered that, according to the Indian media, 17 dogs belonging to  the K-9 squad of the US Secret Service have also been put up at top Delhi Sheraton and Le Meridien  hotels. The German Shepherds and Labradors are reportedly staying in rooms which cost more than $200 a night. Apparently, and I’m not sure if I’m just having my leg pulled here, but the dogs are said to  hold military ranks including sergeant major, first, second, third and fourth lieutenant.
