The Australian national football side will be staying at the five-star Wald-und-Schlosshotel in sleepy Friedrichsruhe as it aims for Fifa World Cup glory. They will have the run of all 38 rooms of the boutique country hotel, ideally located in Germany‘s south-west, for the group matches in Kaiserslautern (155km), Stuttgart (70km) and Munich (230km). Previous sporting greats such as Formula One ace Michael Schumacher and World Cup-winning captain Franz Beckenbauer are among past guests.
