New Himalayan ski resort with five-star hotel

SkiingAlfred Brush Ford, a great grandson of US automobile pioneer Henry Ford, has been given the go-ahead on a new $250 million ski resort in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The resort in  the Kullu Valley  will include a hotel with  700 five-star rooms, 300 chalets, a handicrafts village and a food court. There will also be a basement car park with a capacity for 1,000 vehicles and a high-tech gondola able to lift 500 passengers every hour to an altitude of 14,000 feet (4,300 metres) above sea level.
