This year’s Sydney Film Festival will be the 53rd of its kind, showcasing Australian, international and alternative films over a 2-week stretch (9th-25th June 2006). There’s something for everyone here and you don’t have to be a film fanatic to enjoy it. Over 40 films will be shown at Sydney’s luxurious State Theatre and there will be discounted tickets for exclusive red carpet events. 1,200 tickets were sold at the first festival back in 1954; this year more than 133,000 film lovers are expected.
