Joe Louis Theatre scoops award

The Joe Louis Theatre puppet group is currently celebrating an award for best traditional performance at the World Festival of Puppet Art 2006, held recently in Prague. Their traditional Thai performance showcased a 50-mintue piece titled ‘The Myth of Rahu and the Lunar Eclipse’ and told the story of the cause of lunar eclipses involving the mythical demon planet of Rahu. If you want to catch one of their daily shows, then you’ll find them performing in the Pathumwan area of Bangkok.
