China’s platinum five-star hotels

Shandong Plaza in JinanChina‘s first group of platinum five-star hotels were named by the National Tourism Administration of China (NTAC) on Friday. They are the China World Hotel in Beijing, the Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, and the Shandong Plaza in Jinan, Shandong Province. There are currently 279 five-star hotels in China and it is hoped that this revision to the rating system will help to differentiate the truly elite hotels that the country has to offer.
