Auckland Heritage Festival

The Auckland Heritage Festival gets underway today and will run until  24th September 2006. It is a celebration of the city’s unique heritage, a time to remember the days gone by and reflect on the rich and diverse history of Auckland city. Among the events there will be open days and guided tours of Blockhouse Bay‘s historic Armanasco House, plus ootage from “Auckland’s Historic Moments” at Auckland Art Gallery, including Sir Edmund Hillary’s return from Mt Everest, the opening of the Harbour Bridge, the Beatles visit and other significant events that helped shape the city. Auckland Museum will also be putting on lots of events of interest.
