A knock-out wedding?

One of the most luxurious hotels in my neck of the woods – the Sharrow Bay Hotel overlooking Ullswater – has been in the news today because of a dispute at a wedding held there last July. It was certainly a memorable day, but not for the right reasons – the bride was left with a black eye and needing hospital treatment. The bride’s brother-in-law allegedly punched her after a dispute, and he has been up before magistrates in Penrith today. He’s denying the charges and the case has been adjourned until next month. It’s been featured on the BBC site and is no doubt the kind of publicity that the hotel could do without.
