DesBarres Manor Inn, a luxury inn on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia has added to its list of culinary achievements with an award from Taste of Nova Scotia for the 2008 Cuisine of the Year. Featuring a seasonal menu with ingredients from the DesBarres Manor organic garden and local food suppliers, Chef Shaun Zwarun has been gaining recognition for his East Coast influenced contemporary cuisine. The culinary team presents special dining and cooking class getaways to help guests get a hands on experience with their award winning Maritime cuisine and culinary techniques.
Awesome! Congratulations, I look forward in trying that menu!
I’m sure that is a deserving establishment worthy of a try. My favourite restaurant in Nova Scotia is the Two Chefs in Bridgewater. The proprietors, Denise and Francis, and staff go out of their way to make you welcome and accommodate any special requests. It’s like visiting friends who absolutely love your company! The food is great, more than reasonably priced, generous portions and wonderful service. Treat yourself to a try if in the area. Every Thursday evening they have an all you can eat East Indian buffet. Knowing my wife and I love lamb, they prepared a special lamb curry just for us and called to make sure we could come. “If you can’t make it this week, let us know and we’ll serve it when you can” was the telephone message they left. How’s that for hospitality.
