Something of a surprise to see an airport in there as number one, but I guess the first thing you’d probably do after a 14 hour flight from the UK is get your camera out!

I expected the Eiffel Tower to be higher on that list. Is there any concrete stats to back up your information?
Hi Lorenzo,
The information for this article was taken from Instagram’s own blog.
Thanks,

I can’t believe LAX or Santa Monica made it to that list. There are so many other places more picturesque than the airport. =)
I don’t think it’s so much about which places are the most beautiful, Nicole… it probably has just as much to do with people ‘having time on their hands’ which would certainly be the case at an airport.
…also more tourists visit LA etc. than say Victoria Falls or other seven wonders of the world, hence more pics of those locations. Surprised Sydney opera house wasn’t on the list, as its a bit of a photographic cliche these days.
Yeah, this says more about the most popular locations rather than the most photagaraphable(?)places. People will take photos of anywhere!
It stands to reason that an airport would be high on the list as checking in at an exotic location such as BKK fits in with the bragging rights so common on social media.
