Connoisseurs of grand cuisine and timeless culture can taste the difference on Spanish shores with a private jet vacation to a land of flamenco and flavor. Spain can boast some of the planet’s most awarded restaurants and their laid-back midnight dining, old world and modern fusion, and pure passion for exceptional tapas plates, makes for an incredible experience every time.  Since three of the most elite venues to eat at can be found in the corners of Catalonia and the distinctive Atlantic coastline of Euzkadi, the Basque Country, why not set your jet towards Spain to discover a myriad of inspirational delicacies.

Mugaritz

As you step aboard your private jet, take a moment to appreciate the lush amenities and the impeccable service provided by your dedicated crew. Close your eyes for a short rest as it won’t be long before you disembark in lovely San Sebastien to dine at Mugaritz.

Mugaritz Restaurant dining room

As  a world-class dining establishment like no other, Mugaritz sits on the slopes of the rural beauty of Errenteria, which is only a short private car transfer from San Sebastian’s airport. Through its unassuming entrance and into a stylish, private and relaxed atmosphere, Mugaritz has a mission to take every diner on a gastronomic voyage awash with texture, scents, memories and a hint of magic.

The taster menu at Mugaritz is a must for the inquisitive and with 20 courses and 7 sommelier specials; it is a journey you will not forget. From zesty fused tapas to edible stones, hazelnut bean stew and hake and daikon, finishing with whiskey parfait and chocolate shells filled with Armagnac jelly, this is more than food, this is fine art.

Arzak

After a night spent in the comforts of Hotel María Cristina, a Belle Époque themed hotel with enchanting settings, drive up in a luxury car towards Bilbao to experience the world-famous taste of Arzak.

Arzak Restaurant

Arzak is another Basque favorite that has its hands deep in inherited traditions but brings in innovative twists and a wild dose of culinary creativity. Super slick and contemporary with a touch of industrial chic in its design, this is a spot where the chefs are not afraid to take liberties with their local produce. Food is cooked to perfection and then served in an offbeat elegance balanced like a circus act or perched on a crushed can or even served over an iPad. You can enjoy an exquisite tasting menu with treats such as tomato & melon gazpacho, sweetly poached lobster, tangy cheese and oak leaves and black lemon deserts. For an event when you want dishes to amaze, delight and entertain, Arzak offers the best in signature style.

El Celler de Can Roca

One short yet very comfortable private jet flight will bring you to Barcelona to discover the city’s iconic blend of daytime and nighttime activities. Although you may be tempted to dine in the city, why not enjoy a scenic drive towards a small village near Girona on the infamous Costa Brava to dine at the celebrated El Celler de Can Roca.

El Celler de Can Roca

From their humble beginnings, the Roca brothers have raised their restaurant to dizzying heights scoring number one as the best restaurant in the world in 2013, according to Restaurant Magazine. Despite its fame and fortune El Celler de Can Roca has not lost its family roots; you will notice this as soon as you step through the door when you are welcomed with honest warmth. You can start a delightful dinner with champagne and canapés in the garden before being seated for hours of complete gastro pleasure. The charcoal grilled king prawn is a signature dish that spills over with the finest delicate flavors and is always perfectly paired with unusual cellar offerings from an amiable master sommelier.

El Celler de Can Roca

You have experienced the best of Spain through its foods, climb aboard your private jet once more towards your next destination of choice whether its home or an undiscovered island of choice.

Restaurant Arzak is not in Bilbao. Is in San Sebastian. By car, 10 minutes away from the Hotel Maria Cristina.

  3. Paul Johnson says:

I’m guessing what is meant in the article is that you head in the direction of Bilbao, out of San Sebastian, to find it… not that it is in Bilbao.

  4. Oscar Arce says:

    Dear Ana I.,

Thank you for carefully reading our post.

Of course Arzak is in San Sebastián as shown on day 4 of our Spain itinerary (http://presidentialprivatejetvacations.com/itineraries/spain-private-jet-vacation/).

We meant to write “… drive up in a luxury car towards the experience at the world-famous taste of Arzak [from the Hotel María Cristina where our guests stay]”. Somehow Bilbao remained in the text from an earlier revision of the post for which we apologize.

Again, we appreciate your catching it.

  5. No restaurant succeeds without a great chef, a great location, and a great concept. They all work together. Your location should fit your concept. Your chef, or “talent,” must fit your concept, otherwise you’ll constantly deal with the most common word in the restaurant business

Ready to have the best experienced of Spain.

Very interesting post. I just would like to point that El Celler de Can Roca is in Girona city. In case of using private jet, the best option is Girona Airport. Just 10 min from the restaurant by car.

  7. Oscar Arce says:

    Dear Teresa,

Dining at El Celler de Can Roca is part of our Spain itinerary that you can see at http://presidentialprivatejetvacations.com/itineraries/spain-private-jet-vacation/. Our guests typically prefer to fly into Barcelona to avail themselves of the opportunity to visit the city but since all our journeys are fully customized for each trip to accommodate the guest’s interests, we can of course fly straight into Girona, if asked.
