Photograph of the week: Sunrise at Haleakala crater

Everyone who ever traveled to Maui must have heard about the breathtakingly beautiful sunrises observed from atop the Haleakala crater. And everyone who ever attempted this trip can attest to its difficulty: driving up the winding mountain roads for a couple of hours in the dark and then enduring the unbearably cold temperature just to catch a glimpse of the mighty sun showing its first rays behind the crater. But very few people know that sunsets at Haleakala are equally beautiful and can be enjoyed in less harsh conditions. Here is the proof:

Thank you for featuring my photo, Paul. Haleakala crater is spectacular at any time of the day, but sunsets and sunrises our absolutely fantastic.
