The 5 most desired luxury rental cars

Decisions, decisions… with a fantastic variety of luxury cars on the market, how do you possibly choose just one to hire? There are different pull factors that draw people to the luxury car of their choice. The obvious factors include the power and brute force of the engine, a sensual or futuristic design that captures attention and then there is always the pure need for speed. Yet arguably, the most powerful draw factor is driving the dream car of one’s childhood. Whether it was a Ferrari or a Porsche that you first laid eyes on as a 6 year old kid dressed in overalls, this will always be the car that will enjoy your unwavering loyalty. In an utterly subjective analysis of what cars appear to inspire the most passion, here is our list of the 5 most desired luxury cars for 2015. Range Rover Evoque No humble car of the motor ways the Evoque boasts more features than a swiss army knife, and like the knife, they’re coming out of everywhere. Adaptive full LED headlamps shine a dazzling incandescent light by night, and by day, imbue the car’s front exterior with a regal composure. Step inside the muscular SUV and be surrounded by a highly refined interior finish, a twin needle stitch leather is stylishly interfaced with wood or aluminium veneers. Yet, not all just good looks, the Evoque is engineered with an E-capability system that maximises the fuel efficiency of every ride. In a highly evocative combination of All-road capability and sumptuous comfort, this is the 4WD that is time and again selected by families to do a stylish city zip by week and adventurous escapades by weekends. For the unparalleled exhilaration that comes with tackling all terrains with energy and ease, this is the SUV, with over 160 international awards… and counting. Range Rover Evoque Ferrari 458 Speciale A The magic of Ferrari is its ability to grab our sense of wonder as young children, with its edgy (and no matter the age) futuristic design, and maintain its hold in our dreams well into adulthood. The 458 is the iconic Ferrari, widely known for being fast and looking awesome, yet the Speciale A, takes it to that next level. This is the ultimate Ferrari, a convertible supercar, built on the inherent capability of its high performance predecessor, but if possible, given enhanced performance and effortless style. Engineered with a naturally aspirated V8 engine, this wild creature of the road is possessed by 596 bhp, producing 540 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. In a seamless movement she will sprint from 0-100 in just 3.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 320 km/h. Achieving all this in the elegant confines of a cabriolet. Ferrari may have stolen my heart when I was young, for perhaps I was naive, but she keeps my heart even now that I am old, because she has talent. Ferrari 458 Speciale A Aston Martin Vanquish Coupe A car for the millennium. The Vanquish Coupe was to represent a pinnacle for Aston Martin after 100 years of designing and engineering high performance, heart-rate enhancing, supercars. The folks at AM achieved this ambitious target, and with flying colours, starting with the most powerful production engine that they had ever built, the AM29 V12. This new generation engine races this car in a super sprint to 100 in a mere 3.6 seconds, allowing it to race against time at a top speed of 323 km/h and yet all whilst being thrifty on the fuel, consuming a mere 22.1mpg. As one would expect from a car that marks the culmination of a century’s worth of technological development, many of its features utilise the best engineering knowledge out there. A Touchtronic III eight-speed transmission delivers a super smooth gear transition in 130 milliseconds. An Active Drive Recognition System recognises varied driving styles to which it automatically adapts. There are heaps more attributes to the coupe that continues to inspire the smooth and suave likes of James Bond, but like the best mysteries, you’re best off discovering it all for yourself. Aston Martin Vanquish Porsche Boxster or 911 The Porsche continues to be a conundrum, as with more models than a Miss Universe pageant, it’s hard to choose just one that I would like to take home. Whittling down a list based on popularity, media attention, inherent skills and performance attributes, leaves me with 2 exemplary models that are a struggle to choose between; The 911 Carrera or the Boxster. The 911 is the iconic model for Porsche, possessing the perfect symphony of tradition with innovation. Originally built for the race track, its exterior sporty design does well to enhance that F1 fantasy in a drive of this powerful supercar. Yet without meaning to interfere in this moment of admiration, the Boxster has this habit of stealing humanity’s collective attention. It is, what would be fair to say, the world’s favourite convertible sportscar. A powerful mid-engine roadster, it welcomes its passengers with a luxurious interior of finest materials and than pleasantly surprises them in a dynamic drive, that is powerful and yet highly precise. Porsche 911 Lamborghini Aventador I don’t reckon myself as one that gets caught in the hype, and that includes all applause for supercars produced by Lamborghini. These cars are universally celebrated for their jet-plane inspired futuristic looks as well as being outrageously loaded with horsepower with their whopping V12 engines. The pure ostentatiousness of the Lamborghini had always been a turn off, of course that is until I got into the cockpit of the Aventador and drove it to its maximum speed. I tried hard to not to be impressed by the brute force of power that this supercar posses, I anticipated speed, but I didn’t anticipate a defiance of physics. The Aventador launched from 0-100 km/h in an unbelievable 2.9 seconds and speared to a top speed of 349 km/h. I attempted to withstand the joys of the single-clutch seven-speed semi-automatic transmission that deliver terrifyingly fast gear changes, I denied the benefits of the electronically controlled all-wheel drive system that gives superb traction and grip on the road. But by the journey’s end, as the pump of adrenalin finally drained from my brain, I realised that there was no denying the status of the Aventador as the world’s supercar for the ultimate driving experience. 1. I’m surprised the Tesla isn’t in the top 5. Its beauty and speed are often unsurpassed. A few of the top rental companies are offering them.

  2. These are some interesting cars to rent. I am a leaning towards the Aston Martin Vanquish Coupe. I have to agree with Shawn that I too am surprised that the Tesla was not included. I have been dreaming of driving one of them.

    1. Not sure which rental car service they received their info from but on Turo it is one of the most popular car rentals. The Ferrari and Lamborghini or not popular due to the cost to rent. Mercedes and BMW are popular luxury rentals.

  3. Would love to see an updated list relevant to 2020.

Got to imagine McLaren or Rolls Royce make the list or at least close to it.

  4. Thanks for explaining which factors can help us to choose which car we would want to rent. I am taking a major trip next month, and want to be sure that I can ride in style. I think that renting an exotic car would be a great way to have fun and maintain a sophisticated image at the same time.
