Photograph of the week: Baby elephant in the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve

Captured on safari in South Africa, this photo shows how witnessing elephants in their natural African habitat is a truly enchanting experience. In addition to feeding, their additional day-to-day activities consist of resting and keeping up with their elephant herd. They may also learn some new manners during early years, such as extending their trunk when meeting another elephant as a welcome signal. The attachment baby elephants have to their mother, particularly during their first five years, is doubtlessly heart-warming. Baby elephant Thank you to the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve for permission to reproduce the image.
