Luxury travel treats: glamping accessories special

Are you partial to camping in luxury? The term ‘glamping’ has been around for some time and refers to ‘glamorous camping’. In short, it’s like camping but with all the comforts of home – a proper bed, feather duvet, and often Wi-Fi and running water. And if you want to make the experience that little bit more comfortable still, here are some accessories that you’re sure to find super-useful for your next glamping adventure. CampMaid’s system is essentially the Swiss Army knife of Dutch oven technology, comprised of serving stands, lid lifters, grill grates, charcoal holders and other accessories. By combining these accessories and a traditional Dutch oven, you are able to have a full portable kitchen wherever you may go. 1. I love the look of that Dutch oven. It looks and sounds so versatile. It’s clever how the lid can be used as a frying pan and the lid holder doubles up as a serving stand.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Chris. And yes, a real quality product. Being cast iron, these things are pretty heavy duty and will withstand some pretty tough wear and tear!

  2. I have one of the LuminAID lights and am really impressed at how much light it gives off, and how lightweight it is. I left mine on overnight once and it still seemed just as bright in the morning. I don’t know how long it lasts off one full charge yet, but it’s certainly many hours at least!

    1. Yes, depending on the setting you choose, these lanterns will keep going for a while. According to their website, the battery life is as follows:

      Turbo (300 lumens) 3-5 hours
      High (150 lumens) 8-10 hours
      Medium (75 lumens) 14-16 hours
      Low (10 lumens) 72-100 hours
SOS (15 lumens) 100+ hours (flashing on and off)

You can also use it to charge other devices such as phones, tablets, cameras and headlamps. Pretty handy!

  3. Those water-less organic products from The Solid Bar Company look like a really clever idea for us to try – maybe along with the Packlite thingy when we next go camping – cheers!

    1. I don’t know why someone hasn’t thought of it before, especially now that it’s increasingly difficult to get liquids through security at airports.

  4. That bug repellent scarf is really interesting. I can think of another way to use this aside from camping. Having to live in a tropical place means dealing with bugs and insects all the time. This will save me from putting on sticky, greasy insect repellent ointments on a hot day.

  5. I haven’t been camping since the Brownies, in Dorset in the 1970s since you asked. And it rained. Continually.

But hold the negativity! I’m beginning to like the sound of Glamping. The Dutch complete cooking system looks utterly awesome. My friends who go glamping tell me there’s something magical about food cooked in the Great Outdoors.

And why can’t you be a fashionista in the wild? I could really rock that bug repellent scarf.

  6. The LoopRope seems to be a real game-changer. It looks to be an innovation that could make life beyond glamping a lot less stressful and much safer too. I’ve been in many a tricky situation, needing to lash things down, where I would have appreciated its reliability and versatility.

  7. I had a Friday afternoon off and as Storm Erik was stopping me getting out and about I thought I’d do an inventory on our camping equipment in the garage. To be absolutely honest some of it has seen better days. Then I remembered seeing this piece back last year.

I’ve always believed that you should be as comfy as possible when camping so there are some great ideas to upgrade our kit to 21st Century standards.
