And please, please share with your travel industry friends. The more industry people we have on board, the more we can help one another.
Whether it be the global financial crisis, war and political stability, terrorism or other virus outbreaks, the travel industry has been through the mill at times but it has always demonstrated its resilience and bounced back. The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has a rather different feel to it, though, with the impacts upon the industry being greater than ever, but rest assured there will be a recovery. Just how soon and how strong remains to be seen.
To help provide support to industry colleagues – not just those in the luxury sector but throughout the travel industry – this week I set up a new Facebook group designed to offer support to all members of the industry both during, and in the aftermath of, the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Whther you’re a hotel receptionist or head honcho of a major travel corporation, this group is for everyone. Whether you’re wanting to share your views or get something off your chest, or you’re looking for practical advice or emotional support, to encourage or learn, we hope you’ll find it’s a place where you can freely share whatever is on your mind and get like-minded support in doing so.

This is a fantastic initiative, bravo. I think there will be many in need of something like this because it’s such an uncertain and unsettling time, so being part of a group with others in a similar boat within this industry could be really helpful. Well done on setting this up.
Thanks, Marissa! We are already at 150 members after just 4 days, so it certainly seems to be resonating with people which is good to see.
2 days on and another 1,000 members – it’s really starting to take off!
I’ve been on this group since it started and really enjoyed the discussions. People have been so supportive during what is undoubtedly a tremendously difficult time. But at the same time, the industry is so resilient and I don’t see any reason why it can’t emerge stronger once again once the dust has settled.
