I really like the look of Nomad’s Sand Rivers, it’s such an idyllic location. Sitting on your terrace watching the hippo in their river, whenever you want, must be a brilliant experience. I’d never heard of Selous as a safari destination before but it has a lot going for it.
I could not agree more. Sand Rivers is a must visit for anyone. Whether you are in the main lodge, by the pool or in your room, there is no escaping the incredible views.
Some very romantic dream destinations here for a honeymoon. If would be hard to choose just one of these. The thing is that you’d want to go back and try another place!
Yes, it is hard to choose between each one, but people tend to have an idea of what wildlife they want to see which helps them choose.
That said, there are (hopefully) plenty of anniversary’s to celebrate afterwards, so visiting every lodge can be done!
Two of my friends had planned to get married this year but luckily put their plans on hold so haven’t lost any money. Now as they haven’t had to commute for over a year and haven’t been out either they’ve saved a lot of money. They’re beginning to think of safaris like these for their honeymoon. It’s not been easy but finally Covid may finish with a bonus for them.
It’s such a shame how the last year has been so disrupted. I hope they manage to have a beautiful wedding and extraordinary honeymoon when it is possible.

It’s a long time ago as we’re coming up to our 14th wedding anniversary and we went on a safari for our honeymoon. We both loved every moment. A safari is a great choice for a honeymoon. Unfortunately our lodge was nowhere near as luxurious as these ones in Tanzania, looking back we should have pushed the boat out just a little bit more.
