Hotel Cap Rocat in Mallorca We would have included the luxury hotel located in Formentor in Mallorca. However, this hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovations. Its planned opening will not be until 2023 and will be under the Four Seasons brand. Most hotels do have outdoor space around their swimming pools, and the majority of hotels are also running at reduced capacity to minimise the number of guests.  Hotels in the Balearic Islands are tending to open their doors to guests during the month of May and will close for the winter season around the month of October.  However, hotels in the city of Palma do open longer as they attract the city break traveller. 1. Ibiza in the autumn is beautiful when the crowds have gone and the temperature starts to drop. I can’t wait to go back back, it’s been such a long time since I’ve got away and had a holiday.

    1. Thanks Jen. Yes, it will be wonderful when people can go away again. Fingers crossed, the Balearics will be on the ‘green’ list for places to jet off to without too many tests some time very soon. Anywhere would be welcome though.

    2. I can still just remember the days when we used to jet-off to the one of the Balearics for a long weekend. Looks as if the vaccines are doing their job and it might happen again later this year.

  2. I’ve always preferred al fresco dining whenever it is possible. I like the fresh air and enjoying unobstructed views while I savour my meals or my cocktails. Just look at those views from The Beach by Ushuaia Ibiza and Sa Sivina Restaurant. Now, as it’s the safer option, I might have to jostle for a seat most of the time!

    1. I guess the good news for hotel guests is that many hotels are running at reduced capacity, with some chains having, on average, leaving around 30% of their rooms unoccupied. This should, in turn, make it easier to get an outdoor space.

  3. I can still just remember the days when we used to jet-off to the one of the Balearics for a long weekend. Looks as if the vaccines are doing their job and it might happen again later this year.

    1. Let’s hope so Ed. I’m looking forward to a long weekend in Palma as my first port of call.

  4. What a lovely collection of photos! I feel as if you’ve taken me there and that I’m back in Palma.

    1. Same as you Sara, I can’t wait to get back to Palma in particular. Always a firm favourite of mine.

  5. Seeing beaches and these wonderful resorts make me want to hop on a plane. I haven’t been to the Balearics but from the looks of it, it’s a great travel destination for those who love open seas and relaxing under the sun.

    1. Seeing photos of beaches and lovely places to stay is almost a tonic in itself. Hopefully we’ll get to visit some of these destinations very soon.
