  1. I’ve heard so much about Copacabana Beach and seen hundreds of images that I feel it really should be on my beach bucket list.

  2. If I had a choice which I may not have, as my wife tends to boss our travel bookings, I’d opt for the established Old World charm of the Belmond.

  3. One of my guilty pleasures is watching top-class soccer across the globe. No surprise that Brazil is on my list. Any one of these hotels would make a great base for watching some footy.

  4. Location. Location. Location. These hotels may be from different times and have very different architecture but the one thing they’ve got in common is their stunning locations.

    1. It’s not just great location that unites these superb hotels. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in one and have dinner in 2 of the others. From what I know of the reputation of the other 2, I feel that it is fair to say that they all share considerable luxury and great service.

  5. We hope to visit Rio de Janeiro next year. As we quickly tire of the style of one hotel we’re probably dip into 2 or 3 different hotels. I doubt that we could afford to stay in this type of luxury for all of our trip though we might splurge for a few nights in one of them. To be decided … watch this space …
