£50 million of funding announced for the Eden Project North in Morecambe, UK
More than 2.1 billion worth of levelling up funding has been set out by the UK government across more than 100 projects across the UK. The projects are designed to create jobs and spread opportunities throghout the UK, part of a mission that was initiated by pervious Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

A nice piece of levelling up. Why shouldn’t the people of the north be able to have their own Eden Project? It shouldn’t only be a treat for southerners.
It’s almost a pity that there’s so much money up front. Much of the charm of the original Eden Project in Cornwall came from their ability to create a miracle from very limited funds. The ingenuity shown was incredible.
Were there funds all that limited? I don’t know much about this but I thought the Eden Project in the south had cost something like £150 million?
From what I’ve seen and read this is one of the more popular projects, I’ve heard a lot of positive comments, while some of the other spending is quite contentious.
I was in Morecombe today and there was a big buzz around. Everyone has big hopes for the region now.
Of all the projects announced it seems to me that this is the most popular and least controversial.
It is a long way from Morecambe to Cornwall and this project will give millions of people a chance to visit who might not have visited the original Eden project down in Cornwall.
