Photograph of the week: View over the Ecrins
Undiscovered Alps for permission to share the photograph.
If you have a really special photograph you would like to share with  A Luxury Travel Blog‘s readers, please contact us.
This viewpoint over the dramatic Ecrins mountains in the Southern French Alps was discovered by a fixer for a film company tasked with finding a unique, dramatic and romantic end shot with easy to access for a film crew, after a spontaneous running challenge with a friend from the top of a ski lift in Orcieres. It is just 30 minutes away from the top of the ski lift but as there is no path and it involves some scrambling, no-one ever goes there. A guide rigged up safety lines for the crew to walk up safely and they carried up all the kit. It was a race against time to get the perfect take in time with the sun set and cloud movement, yet this photo captures the mood perfectly.

Wow!! What a stunning scene and an amazing discovery for the production company. The French Alps are certainly on the ‘must see’ list.
What is your secret in making your blog number 1? I followed your blog and I have seen a website saying that your blog is number one in travel blogs.
Hello Sol… thanks for dropping by. There are lots of lists out there. I’m not sure which one you were looking at, but we rank highly on all the key ones. I’m not sure there’s any secret beyond a lot of hard work. My background is in interenet marketing for the tourist industry (which of course helps), and I’ve been doing that since the WWW first came along.
