A $100 million restoration of The Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pennsylvania is nearing completion, with a re-opening anticipated next month. The historic landmark first opened in 1804 and was home to one of the first golf courses in the United States. The restoration hopes to accomplish the uneviable task of capturing the hotel’s bygone grandeur whilst still incorporating modern amenities into its 216 rooms, such as huge flatscreen TVs. The golf course is being refurbished also, as are the restaurants and spa.
