A journey of 10,000 miles begins with a single step

Breathtaking photography of exotic, authentic places captures our imaginations. Beautifully crafted editorial pulls us into a fellow-traveller’s journey, almost as if we had arrived and experienced the magic for ourselves. We are inspired by talented travel writers, bloggers and photographers. Each of us have desires to experience the beauty of this world, ideally as deeply and frequently as possible. If this resonates with you, then imagine being Alex Strohl! Strohl is an amazing photographer who specialises in travel and nature photography. His work means that he is living a remarkable life, which has been made even more special by a collaboration with a visual communication and brand promotion agency, called Let me brand.  Discover where this journey went.

10,000 miles of intimate experiences from France to Norway

Alex Strohl is living that dream that so many of us have. He describes himself as a photographer first and traveller second. What’s special about Alex is his amazing talent to capture those fleeting moments of a landscape’s essence. His photography seems to pluck the magic out of creation. And of course while he is doing this, he is travelling to beautiful places.

Strohl’s photography shows these places to us in a light that is rare and moving. Relationships between environments and inhabitants are intimately understood and portrayed through his photography. Alex Strohl’s art illustrates the bond held by some people with the nature that surrounds them. His photography showcases some of the world’s dreamers who have opted to live an alternative lifestyle. Often in some of the earth’s most dramatic locations. One of his adventures was a journey of 10,000 miles, covering nine countries from France to Norway.

Alex as inspiration

Following someone like Alex can be truly inspirational. It can remind us of our deep connection to nature and edge us closer to fulfilling some of our own travel and life dreams. Yet Alex, just like you and I, had to start somewhere. He had to learn and perfect his craft. But not only this, his amazing lifestyle and superb success have also sometimes been made stronger because of important creative collaborations.

As Lao Tzu said: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” The expression, of course, means that great things start from humble beginnings. This applies to all of us, regardless of whether it is an aspect of our professional or personal life. Recently Alex took part in a very significant creative collaboration. A collaboration that has taken his important work to the next level.

Let me brand join Strohl on his journey

This is where Let me brand, a visual communication and brand promotion agency based in France, joined Alex on his fascinating journey. Let me brand collaborated with Strohl to develop a great editorial project. Let me brand captured the essence of Strohl’s 4-month roadtrip across Europe, from France to Sweden, into an inspirational book called Alternative Living.

Alternative Living takes the reader on this incredible road trip. Through superb editorial and magical photography, the reader travels with Alex through nine different countries, covering a distance of almost 10,000 miles.

Intimacy & beautiful simplicity

Yet the innate power of this collaboration, which has been so skilfully engineered by the agency, Let me brand, is this feeling of somehow being present in this atmosphere of intimacy. Intimacy, yet the most beautiful simplicity.

At the outset of the collaboration Let me brand had over 100,000 beautiful photographs to study, and almost as many inspiring encounters to hear about from Alex. The challenge was to strike the perfect balance between showcasing the brand of this exciting, young photographer, while not losing any of the magic of the encounters, which in turn showcase the dreamers who have opted for this Alternative Living. The book’s limited edition of 1000 copies was distributed within 2 weeks of its release. Success that speaks for itself, which won’t come as a surprise when you see this perfect blend of media, nature, encounters and people. Here’s a taste of Alternative Living:

“Do you want to try my wife’s Apple Schnapps?”

This is how Jórgel concluded the conversation in front of his barn. After accepting, you are taken into the wooden cabin that stood behind. The first thing that came to mind is how simply Jórgel lives. No running water or electricity. His life powered by just a wood burning stove and a few pots. After spending a good chunk of the afternoon in his company, it seemed clear, Jórgel was one of the happiest men alive. His basic needs were infinitely smaller than the average person and therefore required very little to be met. He could then focus on the things that drove him out of bed everyday, it was the simplicity of his life that seemed to make him so content and satisfied.

The perfect collaborative journey

Alternative Living is a beautiful, groundbreaking book, that is the result of the perfect collaborative journey. The journey of almost 10.000 miles, that began with a single step.
