Condé Nast Johansens awards for 2006

Yasawa Island ResortFiji’s Yasawa Island Resort has won a top international accolade in the prestigious Condé Nast Johansens awards for 2006, announced yesterday at a gala event in New York. The exclusive retreat was chosen over three others for the Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway title in the 2006 Americas Awards for Excellence. Hidden in the most remote and unspoilt of the Fiji Islands, Yasawa Island Resort is a luxury retreat of just 18 bures, or bungalows, on a stretch of pristine white beach.   There are no other resorts on the island and the only neighbours are in a handful of mainly traditional villages nearby.
