  1. The King David is indeed the favorite of the famous and rich (famous and poor won’t get you past the lobby). But the lobby is pretty cool too – signatures of notable guests are engraved in the floor, creating a walk that features the “who’s who” of the 20th century.

    When it opened in 1931, it was the first luxury hotel in Jerusalem (definition: it had hot running water). It’s by no means the only one now.
