Celebrities at events like the Oscars and Golden Globes are traditionally given a goody bag with all manner of lavish gifts from companies eager to have the big names use their products. This year’s Oscars will be no exception. Presenters such as George Clooney, Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman will receive a bag that includes a four night stay in the unparalleled Vera Wang Suite at Halekulani, Honolulu, a signature treatment at the famed SpaHalekulani, and dinner for two at Hawaii’s only five diamond restaurant, La Mer at Halekulani. There’s also a complimentary two-night stay in a suite at The Carlyle Hotel on New York’s Upper East Side, and a bunch of other goodies.
[…] I blogged yesterday on the contents of this evening’s Oscars swagbag, given to presenters at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. In addition to the travel goodies already mentioned, I’ve since discovered there’s more, including a $1,495 leather-trimmed cashmere travel blanket from Frette, the famous Italian linen house, $1,500 exclusive dinner party in Morton’s Private Boardroom from Morton’s Steakhouse in Chicago, a $5,700 package including two nights plus surfing lessons at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California, a $2,500 package including two nights plus wine tasting at Bernadus Lodge in Carmel Valley, California, and a $2,500 package including three nights at one of five Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. I wonder just how many of these freebies actually ever get used by the celebrities… Possibly related posts: […]
