Empire State Building enters 75th year

This news nearly passed me by but, on Monday of this week, the Empire State Building entered its 75th year. As part of the celebrations, there will be a year-long series of lighting and entertainment events. The building – which attracts in the region of four million visitors a year – is also currently undergoing a two-year improvement programme at a cost of $150 million.
