Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced that it will open Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin in mainland China in early 2009. Situated in the northeastern corner of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin is regarded as one of China’s most beautiful and scenic destinations, claiming to have the “finest mountains and rivers under heaven”. Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin will be situated on the bank of picturesque Li Jiang River, a 30-minute drive from the airport.
